Prayer Letter May 15, 2008
Dear Prayer Partners:
It has been a busy time since the last prayer letter. Both the presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast have elected additional members to the Retreat Operating Committee. The presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic add as a regular member Dan LaPre and Tom Tyson and Len Richards as at-large members. The presbytery of the Southeast elected Brad Winsted as an additional regular member.
In between the two presbytery meetings. Paul Cunningham was instrumental in getting the phone cable run, so hopefully it will be possible to call 911 by the time of the June Conferences. The Spring Singles Retreat was well attended, and many have reported a growth in the Lord because of the preaching of Stephen Doe. With all these things happening there is much for which to praise God.
Our first prayer request concerns the Deacons Conference. Given the presence of Father’s Day and the presence of one of our speakers in Haiti, it was decided to move the Deacons Conference out to October. Please pray that this change will glorify the Lord and allow for the presentation of some unique evangelistic outreach ministries to the deacons at the conference.
The second prayer request is for the development of home school math and science opportunities at MRCC. Sarah Leslie is willing to work with home school groups to allow for them to experience MRCC as they complete their curriculum. Anyone interested can contact me, as Sarah is at MRCC with her husband Kenley, and phone company hasn’t finished up the connections.
The World Missions Family Conference can certainly be bathed in prayer. This is the second World Missions emphasis. The fields are white unto harvest. The missionaries will have time to talk with many on an intimate basis during the conference. It could be that the Lord will raise up missionaries from this conference. Ask the Lord to bless David Clenance the organizer for the conference. Finally please pray for Kenley and Sarah Leslie as they will be on site at MRCC for almost all of the summer. Pray for their strength and health as they work on many of the maintenance needs of MRCC.
Serving Him,
John Jamison
