Fall Singles Retreat, October 5-7, 2012

Sponsored by the Retreat Operations Committee of the Presbyteries of Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Central Pennsylvania, and Ohio of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church

Theme: An Elementary Exam of Revelation

This conference is a great way to enter the fall of the year. This conference is designed for the single men and women of the OPC, as a time of spiritual growth, fun and fellowship. The discussions last late into the night, and the food is excellent. Often singles from other communions attend this retreat, because they have an interest in sound biblical preaching and the reformed faith.

Topics:

  • Dr. De Jong will direct his teaching to “An Elementary Exam of Revelation,” looking first at the prologue and then looking at the great war between God and Satan, and culminating in the glorious victory at the final judgment.
  • He will also examine some of the arguments re “the rapture” and “the millenium.”
  • Through our study, we will realize that “We are more than Conquerors.” Dr. De Jong is in the final stages of publishing a two volume Bible study on the book of Revelation.

Speaker: Norman DeJong

Dr. DeJong has been a pastor in the OPC since 1993. Prior to that, he was a Christian school administrator and the head of Teacher Education at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. He received a Ph.D. in Educational Philosophy from the Univ. of Iowa in 1972. His dissertation topic was “A study of the relationship between the Kindom of God and democracy.” His first book, Education in the Truth, was published in 1969 and is still being used.
