Ladies Retreat

The annual Machen Ladies Retreat is hosted by the women of Staunton Orthodox Presbyterian Church. It is always scheduled for the second full weekend in October, which is usually when the fall color is at its height but is still warm enough in the evening to enjoy a campfire and star gazing. The 2017 Ladies Retreat will be October 13-14.

The retreat is open to all women from any reformed church. This is a ladies retreat—ladies 18 years old and older may attend. Nursing infants 6 months and younger may attend with their mothers.

The speaker for the 2017 Ladies Retreat is: Mrs. Diane Ippolito.

Diane Ippolito has loved learning about prayer from a young age. The teaching genes she inherited make her love to share all that she gathers, and God provides her many opportunities to do so. Diane has been married to Steve for almost 33 years, many of which were spent moving with Steve’s Air Force Career. They have 3 grown children, who provided many chances for Diane to grow in prayer. Diane is a member of New Life OPC in Montoursville, PA, and an Area Coordinator for Moms In Prayer International. She has participated in OPC short term mission of English 4 Kids for 4 years, organized and taught at Machen Retreat Center’s Science Camp for 7 years, and cooked at Machen Retreat Center’s Stronghold Camp for 2 years. She is looking forward to returning to Machen with fewer responsibilities and able to enjoy the company of the women who attend the Ladies Retreat.

The topic will be: “Prayer That Changes”

Prayer changes things—hearts, children, schools, communities, cities, nations. And prayer changes us, giving us a hope and confidence we can’t have without it.  Come retreat with me with open hearts and open Bibles to tap into powerful, intercessory prayer that pleases God and frustrates Satan.

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2
