Main Building

The Machen Retreat and Conference Center main building houses a kitchen, open-air pavilion, indoor dining room, and bath house facilities on the main level. Attached to the bath house is a utility room with washer and dryer. The upstairs level has an air-conditioned assembly room, a small office, and storage areas.

Open Air Pavilion

Most activities take place under the pavilion attached to the main building. There are benches which convert into tables, to provide seating for 50-60 people at a time. In addition to the benches, there are usually eight to ten lawn chairs available to provide additional seating.
The pavilion provides ideal space for many group activities and is an excellent area for lessons, corporate worship, and fellowship. The pavilion provides a great place for the groups to gather. The pavilion is large enough to allow for two ping pong tables in addition to seating.
Casual gatherings for recreation or fellowship often take place under the pavilion which offers shade from the sun or protection from rain, while still allowing the Machen Retreat and Conference Center guests to appreciation the glory of God’s creation.

Dining Room

The dining area sits 30 to 40 comfortably. Usually the big eaters use it, as it is closer to the food. However, most people go out unto the pavilion to eat.
The indoor dining room also offers space for recreation and fellowship.

The kitchen is a commercial restaurant style kitchen and is sufficiently equipped to feed over 100 people easily. It has lots of freezer and refrigerator space as well as a large walk in pantry. Those who rent the facility for private gatherings will need to provide their own food and kitchen staff.
The kitchen has large griddle which allows for all the pancakes and sausage a group will want for breakfast. There is a large oven with 6 burners on top.
The convection oven allows for cooking 3 of the 16 inch diameter pizzas at a time. The serving area has heated holding trays for cafeteria style serving. The dishwasher makes quick work of the dirty dishes.
